seaPublish - a brief history

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

For those unaware, seaPublish is a straightforward, easy to use content management system (CMS) that gives you complete control over the content of your website.

SEA decided back in April 2008 to develop its own content management system because developing bespoke and embedded content management within each application commissioned was proving (with development of bespoke functionality and a permanent testing programme) a persistently heavy workload.

Therefore, as both a developer tool and client administration tool, seaPublish was commissioned.  We now sit here 21 months later, proudly with a dozen plus websites administered daily with seaPublish.

The software is ever being developed, so check back soon for latest features and developments.

In other news we’ve been reading more about the benefits of ‘Mega Drop Menus’. If you’ve visited any of the big retail websites like John Lewis or B&Q lately you’ve come across this new way of designing menus. Reports from Jacob Neilsen the usability guru suggest their very user friendly - We’re currently updating our content management system seaPublish to support this type of menu and will be using it in some new websites launching this year. We’ll post when they’re up and running.

Cheers,

Will

A new website and a new blog…it’s been a busy few weeks at Marlowe Yard. And we’ve just celebrated our 25th year in business. More on that in future posts.

The good news is the next 3 months will be even busier with a plethora of new website, web video and print work streaming into the agency. Watch this space for updates, launches, and general riffs about marketing communications.

Have a great Easter!
